Protection of Women against Violence
On May 30, 2024, Ramaiah College of Law's Centre for Women and Child Welfare Policy hosted an Outreach Programme at Mahila Dakshata Samiti in Bangalore. The programme commenced with a welcome speech by Ms. Meghna G, followed by an introduction from Ms. Krishna G H. She outlined the scope of cybercrime, POSH, and domestic violence. LL.M students performed skits that depicted real- life scenarios of domestic violence, workplace harassment, and privacy breaches, offering insights into addressing these issues and accessing available remedies.
Dr. Anita Patil, Faculty Co-ordinator of CWCWP, concluded the event with a thank you to the Mahila Dakshata Samiti members. The session included an interactive QCA, where attendees raised various concerns, particularly about cybercrime and safe internet practices. Positive feedback from the participants underscored the programme's effectiveness in raising awareness and fostering future collaboration.
The event successfully met its objectives by educating the community about the various forms of violence against women and their remedies. It provided valuable information on preventive measures and legal resources, enhancing awareness and empowering attendees with knowledge to address these issues effectively.
